KeyQuest Live Web Deployment & Features
KeyQuest is now live on the web with ten Typing Academy lessons, a 60-second Word Rush wave mode, the five-stage Starwood Trail adventure, and browser-local progress.
KeyQuest (originally prototyped under the working title Keyboard Trainer) is now deployed as a live browser application at keyquest-b9l7.onrender.com.
What is included in the live build
- Typing Academy (10 lessons): A structured curriculum progressing from Home Row Left (
A S D F) and Home Row Right (J K L ;) through full Home Row words, Top Row (Q W E R T Y U I O P), Bottom Row (Z X C V B N M), Shift capitals, numbers, punctuation, speed practice, and the Final Exam. Each lesson displays an interactive color-coded keyboard with finger-zone indicators and live WPM/accuracy tracking. - Word Rush: A 60-second timed wave survival mode with escalating word waves, streak combo multipliers, and a three-heart life counter.
- Starwood Trail (Typing Adventure): A five-stage story quest across Sunny Forest, Crystal Cave, Misty Bridge, Fire Mountain, and Typo Castle against King Typo. Each completed word powers a hero attack before the monster attack timer fills.
- Progression & Trophy Shelf: Players earn 1–3 stars per lesson based on accuracy and WPM targets, gain XP across all modes, and unlock 12 Trophy Shelf achievements.
- Local storage & Web Audio: All progress is stored locally in the browser (
localStorage) with no sign-up or external tracking, paired with synthesized Web Audio sound effects and a header sound toggle.
